Fog Cutter Cocktail Recipe
The Fog Cutter is a tropical cocktail that brings together bold spirits and fresh citrus for a flavor-packed experience. With a mix of rum, gin, and brandy, paired with orange and lemon juice and a touch of sweet orgeat, it is refreshing and perfectly balanced. A float of sherry on top gives it a smooth finish, and a sprig of mint makes it feel extra special. This is a drink that is as fun to make as it is to enjoy.

Cuisine American
- 1 1/2 oz Light Rum
- 1/2 oz Cognac or Brandy
- 1/2 oz Gin
- 1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 2 oz Fresh Orange Juice
- 1/2 oz Orgeat Syrup
- 1/2 oz Sherry for floating
- Mint Sprig for garnish
Add some ice to your shaker to get it nice and cold.
Pour the rum, cognac, gin, lemon juice, orange juice, and orgeat syrup into the shaker.
Shake the mixture really well to chill it and blend the flavors.
Pour the mix into a glass filled with crushed ice. If you do not have crushed ice, regular ice works too.
Carefully float the sherry on top by pouring it slowly over the back of a spoon. This adds a lovely finishing touch.
Top it off with a mint sprig to add a fresh aroma and a pop of color.
Do not worry if you are missing something. Here are some simple substitutions:
- If you do not have cognac, pisco works as a great alternative.
- For a slightly funkier flavor, try Rhum Agricole instead of light rum.
- Orgeat syrup is easy to make at home with almonds, sugar, and a little orange flower water if you cannot find it in stores.
Feel free to adjust based on what you have or your personal taste.
Enjoy making your Fog Cutter and have fun experimenting with it. Cheers!
