Godmother Cocktail Recipe
This Godmother cocktail recipe is easy to make and only needs vodka, amaretto, and ice. You get a smooth, slightly sweet drink with a nice almond flavor and just enough vodka to balance it out. It takes about 3 minutes to put together, so you won't spend much time mixing. Add an orange twist if you like, and you've got a great after-dinner cocktail.

Rocks glass or old fashioned glass

Mixing Glass (optional)
Cocktail strainer (optional)
Citrus peeler (optional, for garnish)
- 1½ oz vodka
- ½ oz amaretto liqueur
- Ice cubes
- 1 orange twist for garnish optional
Fill your glass with ice. Grab a rocks glass or old-fashioned glass and fill it with ice cubes. If you have one large cube, you can use that instead.
Add the vodka. Pour 1½ oz vodka over the ice. Use a smooth vodka you enjoy since it's the main ingredient.
Pour in the amaretto. Add ½ oz amaretto liqueur. This gives your drink its sweet, nutty almond flavor.
Give it a stir. Stir gently for about 10 to 15 seconds until everything is mixed and chilled. You don't need to stir too long, or the melting ice can water down your drink.
Garnish and serve. If you're adding an orange twist, twist the peel over the glass to release the oils. Drop it into your drink, then serve right away.
Start with a 3:1 ratio. Use 3 parts vodka to 1 part amaretto if you want a stronger vodka flavor without too much sweetness. For a sweeter cocktail, try a 2:1 ratio instead.
Use ingredients you like. You don't need expensive vodka or amaretto, but choose brands that taste good to you. Since there are only two main ingredients, you'll notice the difference.
Don't over-stir. You just want to mix and chill the drink. Stir for about 10 to 15 seconds, then let the ice keep it cold while you sip.
Try an orange twist. It's optional, but it adds a fresh citrus smell that goes nicely with the almond flavor.
