Mind Eraser Cocktail Recipe

We totally get why the Mind Eraser gets so much attention. It’s bold, fizzy, and a little sneaky. That mix of vodka, coffee liqueur, and club soda packs a punch, but the real fun is in the layers. It’s simple to make, and when it’s done right, it looks just as good as it tastes.

Equipment

  • Old-fashioned glass or highball glass
  • Bar Spoon
  • Straw
  • Jigger

Ingredients

  • 2 oz coffee liqueur we usually use Kahlúa, but any brand will do
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 2 oz club soda or lemon-lime soda we like club soda for a lighter feel, but Sprite adds a sweet twist
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • Fill a glass to the top with ice cubes. The colder and fuller the glass, the better the layers stay in place.
  • Pour in the coffee liqueur first. Let it settle at the bottom.
  • Slowly pour the vodka over the back of a bar spoon so it floats above the liqueur.
  • Top it off with club soda, pouring the same way to keep the layers nice and clear.
  • Add a thick straw and serve it right away. The whole idea is to sip from the bottom and let each layer hit your taste buds in order.

Notes

  • Use plenty of ice and pour each layer slowly. This helps keep the drink looking sharp and layered.
  • Go with a jumbo straw or anything wide enough to pull the drink from the bottom up. A skinny straw won’t give you the full effect.
  • If you want to lighten it up or add a twist, try vanilla vodka or caramel vodka.
  • Use a clear glass to show off those layers. It’s simple, classic, and just looks better
