Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Total Time 5 minutes mins
- 2 oz Dark Rum we prefer Pusser's
- 4 oz Pineapple Juice
- 1 oz Orange Juice pulp-free is best
- 1 oz Cream of Coconut
- Pinch of Ground Nutmeg for garnish
- Ice Cubes as needed
- Pineapple wedge, orange wedge, or maraschino cherry for garnish
Add ice to our cocktail shaker, then pour in 2 oz dark rum, 4 oz pineapple juice, 1 oz orange juice, and 1 oz cream of coconut. Shake well for 15–30 seconds until the shaker feels chilled.
Fill a hurricane or tall glass with fresh ice, then strain the cocktail into the glass.
Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg and optional fruit like pineapple or a cherry. It’s ready to enjoy!
- We always shake our Painkiller well to blend the cream of coconut smoothly. If it's separated in the can, we'll blend it first for better mixing.
- Fresh nutmeg makes a big difference. We grate it right over the drink for the best aroma and flavor.
- To balance sweetness, we might add a squeeze of fresh lime juice. This cuts through the richness and adds a zesty twist.
- We can adjust the rum to juice ratio to suit our taste. More rum for a stronger kick, or more juice for a lighter sip.
- If we're out of dark rum, we can try gold rum or a mix of light and dark rums. For a non-alcoholic version, we'll use more juice and a splash of coconut water.
