Rocks glass
- 2 oz blended Scotch whisky
- 1/4 oz Islay single malt Scotch for float
- 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 oz honey-ginger syrup
- Candied ginger or lemon twist for garnish optional
Fill a rocks glass with fresh ice cubes and set it aside while you make the drink.
Pour the blended Scotch, lemon juice, and honey-ginger syrup into a cocktail shaker. Then add ice.
Shake hard for about 10 to 15 seconds. You want the drink cold, smooth, and well mixed. The honey syrup needs a good shake to blend in properly.
Double strain the drink into your prepared rocks glass with fresh ice. This helps catch any tiny ice bits or ginger pulp.
Slowly pour the Islay Scotch over the back of a spoon so it gently floats on top. That’s how you get that smoky aroma with every sip.
Top it off with a piece of candied ginger or a lemon twist if you like. Skip the straw so you can really enjoy the smell and flavor together.
