Cuisine American
- 2 oz Scotch whisky
- 1 oz Drambuie
- Ice a large cube works best
- 1 lemon twist or orange peel for garnish optional
Fill a mixing glass with ice. Add 2 oz Scotch whisky and 1 oz Drambuie.
Stir for 20 to 30 seconds, or until the drink feels nice and cold. You want it chilled, but not watered down.
Strain it into a rocks glass over one large ice cube. Large ice melts slower, so your drink stays strong longer.
Twist a lemon peel or orange peel over the top to release the oils. Then drop it into the glass or rest it on the rim.
Serve right away and sip slowly.
The ratio matters here. Start with 2 parts Scotch to 1 part Drambuie for a balanced drink. The Scotch gives it warmth and depth, while the Drambuie adds honey sweetness and light herbal notes.
Choose a Scotch you actually enjoy since it carries most of the flavor. It does not have to be expensive, but it should be smooth enough to sip.
