Saturn Cocktail Recipe

The Saturn cocktail is a tropical favorite with a twist. Instead of rum, this tiki classic uses gin, giving it a refreshing and unique flavor. It is sweet, tangy, and nutty all at once, and the best part? You can easily make it at home.

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Blender (optional)
  • Strainer (optional)
  • Tiki mug or tall glass (optional)

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz Gin
  • ½ oz Lemon Juice freshly squeezed
  • ½ oz Passion Fruit Syrup
  • ¼ oz Orgeat Syrup
  • ¼ oz Falernum

Instructions

  • Start by filling your cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add the gin, lemon juice, passion fruit syrup, orgeat, and falernum.
  • Shake it really well until the shaker feels cold to the touch. This usually takes about 10 to 15 seconds.
  • Fill your tiki mug or a tall glass with crushed ice.
  • Strain the cocktail into your glass, pouring it right over the crushed ice.
  • If you are in the mood for something slushy, skip the shaker and blend everything with crushed ice until smooth.

Notes

  • If you do not have passion fruit syrup, mix passion fruit puree with simple syrup for a quick alternative.
  • Falernum can be tricky to find, but a spiced ginger-lime syrup works as a great substitute.
  • Play around with the ratios to match your taste. Want it a little stronger? Add more gin. Prefer it sweeter? Use an extra splash of passion fruit syrup.
  • The key to getting the balance right is sweetness and acidity. Start with the recipe as is, then adjust to your liking.

With these steps, tips, and a little creativity, you can whip up a Saturn cocktail that is every bit as delicious as one you would find at a tiki bar. Cheers!
