Cuisine American
- 2 oz tequila silver/blanco recommended
- 1 oz orange liqueur Cointreau, Grand Marnier, or triple sec
- 1 oz fresh lime juice about 1 large lime
- 4 –5 medium fresh strawberries hulled and chopped
- 1/2 oz simple syrup or agave syrup
- Margarita salt for rimming the glass
- Garnish: 1 fresh strawberry or lime wedge
Grab a lime wedge and run it around the rim of your glass. Dip the edge into margarita salt spread out on a small plate.
In your cocktail shaker, add the chopped strawberries and simple syrup. Muddle them until you get a chunky puree.
Pour in your tequila, orange liqueur, and lime juice.
Toss in some ice and shake it like you mean it for about 15 to 20 seconds. You want it nice and chilled.
Double strain it into your prepared glass over fresh ice. This helps catch all the pulp and seeds so your drink stays smooth.
Top it off with a strawberry or lime wedge on the rim. Sip right away while it’s cold and fresh.
Want it frozen instead?
Just toss everything in a blender with a handful of ice and blend until smooth. That’s it.
