Equipment

  • Highball glass or rocks glass
  • Jigger
  • Bar Spoon
  • Citrus knife optional
  • Citrus squeezer optional

Ingredients

  • 2 oz whiskey bourbon, Tennessee, or your favorite
  • 4-6 oz Coca-cola
  • Lemon or lime wedge for garnish

Instructions

  • Start by chilling both the whiskey and cola in the fridge.
  • Fill a highball glass with fresh ice cubes.
  • Pour 2 oz whiskey over the ice.
  • Slowly add 4-6 oz Coca-cola by pouring down the side of the glass. This keeps the fizz from going flat.
  • Stir once, just enough to mix, so we keep the carbonation lively.
  • Add a wedge of lemon or lime on the rim for garnish.

Notes

It’s best not to over-stir, as that makes the soda go flat. We can always tweak the whiskey-to-cola ratio until it fits our taste. For a little twist, try squeezing the citrus wedge into the drink for extra zip.
