Zombie Cocktail Recipe
The Zombie cocktail is a Tiki bar staple for a reason. It is packed with flavor, fun to make, and guaranteed to make you feel like you are on a beach somewhere. Take your time with it, enjoy the complex layers of rum and fruit, and maybe throw on some tropical music while you sip.

- 1 1/2 oz Aged Rum
- 1 1/2 oz Jamaican Rum
- 1 oz 151-Proof Rum
- 3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 1/2 oz Falernum
- 1 tsp Grenadine
- 1/2 oz Don's Mix cinnamon syrup + grapefruit juice
- A few drops Absinthe
- A dash Angostura Bitters
- Mint sprig for garnish
Fill your shaker with ice.
Add all liquid ingredients except the 151-proof rum.
Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds.
Strain into a tall glass filled with crushed ice.
Float the 151-proof rum on top.
Garnish with a mint sprig.
Serve and enjoy your Zombie cocktail!
- If you do not have falernum, try mixing a little cinnamon syrup with lime juice. It is not exactly the same, but it works.
- Don’s Mix can be made at home by mixing equal parts cinnamon syrup and grapefruit juice. Easy and delicious.
- Not into 151-proof rum? Swap it out for a dark rum. It will still taste amazing, just a bit less fiery.
- Start with less grenadine and adjust to taste. If it feels too sweet, a little extra lime juice will fix it.
- Easy on the absinthe. A few drops go a long way. Too much, and it can overpower the drink.
