Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz Aged Rum
  • 1 1/2 oz Jamaican Rum
  • 1 oz 151-Proof Rum
  • 3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/2 oz Falernum
  • 1 tsp Grenadine
  • 1/2 oz Don's Mix cinnamon syrup + grapefruit juice
  • A few drops Absinthe
  • A dash Angostura Bitters
  • Mint sprig for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill your shaker with ice.
  • Add all liquid ingredients except the 151-proof rum.
  • Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds.
  • Strain into a tall glass filled with crushed ice.
  • Float the 151-proof rum on top.
  • Garnish with a mint sprig.
  • Serve and enjoy your Zombie cocktail!

Notes

  • If you do not have falernum, try mixing a little cinnamon syrup with lime juice. It is not exactly the same, but it works.
  • Don’s Mix can be made at home by mixing equal parts cinnamon syrup and grapefruit juice. Easy and delicious.
  • Not into 151-proof rum? Swap it out for a dark rum. It will still taste amazing, just a bit less fiery.
  • Start with less grenadine and adjust to taste. If it feels too sweet, a little extra lime juice will fix it.
  • Easy on the absinthe. A few drops go a long way. Too much, and it can overpower the drink.
